I agree with Ms. Tutti! Girl, don’t let one or two setbacks “crush your dreams.” YOU have to realize within yourself that those setbacks do not determine what God has for you!

Please please please take these things as stepping stones and do what’s best for you in your heart. God does not give us dreams and aspirations for them not to succeed. They are usually our calling. There’s nothing that can trump that.

Alicia Keys is NOT the only venue of success for you. Neither is so called “urban media.” Evaluate your choices and then move FORWARD. Don’t let the enemy keep you in a funk because opportunities are gonna pass you by that way.

You’re excellent and you WILL see your dreams come true. But only YOU are in control of how you handle these setbacks… don’t doom yourself before the light can find you!

Just wanted to say that I love your site and how original it is. I’ve been lurking for about a year and your blog always does the job of keeping me interested. You changed the layout and I think that it has done wonders for the site though your material was already interesting before it. As a blogger and freelance writer, I can relate to when you say that this blogging and writing ish can bring a sister down. When you feel you are putting your all into something and the results are just eh, it can really be stab at the self-esteem. But you’ve accomplished so much thus far and you are an inspiration to some of the newcomers like myself who are looking to etch our names in this intense pie of blogging. With that said, maybe a break is something that is needed so that you can gather your thoughts and come back stronger and better. Sometimes we need to take a step back and take a look at all we have accomplished to plan out our next moves so that we can accomplish more. I believe everyone has their moment of reflection and I know that you’ve got something that others can’t duplicate. Good luck Starrene, look forward to your return and your posts!

Awww :/ It hurts to hear about someone having their dreams crushed. I’ve been feeling that way lately myself.

I always try to keep in mind what I do have though, and remember that at least if I try and fail, than that’s better than never trying at all.
