For Colored Girls Trailer (Tyler Perry Done Good This Time?)
I. Cannot. Wait. To see this. At first I was nervous when I heard that Tyler Perry (one, a man; two, a sometimes suspect director) was adapting it for film but the trailer looks great! Plus, I spoke to the publicist for the film and she gave it glowing reviews–not just because she was the publicist but because she was a brown girl fan of For Colored Girls… the book, it was definitely genuine. Check out the trailer:
For Colored Girls... the book and the play changed my life when I was a teenager so if the movie is done well it will speak to a new generation of women in the same way.
Shouts to all my ladies in yellow. =0)

I’m glad you put the question mark next to ‘Tyler Perry done good this time’…
Wow! The trailer was provocative! Just like you, the fact that Tyler Perry was at the helm made me question if he could pull it off. Afterall, he is not known for subtle and nuanced directing in his plays and films. However with such a wealth of actresses and actors, maybe this will be a turning point for Tyler. I’m curious to know if Angela Bassett was offered a role but for whatever reason, was unable to participate.
Well from the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be great. They pushed the release date up so it would qualify for the awards season.
