Keke Palmer Will Play Chilli in TLC Biopic
Keke Palmer has been cast in the forthcoming TLC biopic as Chilli. I wouldn’t have thought about Palmer for the role. I thought they’d go more for unknowns, especially since it’s a Vh1 movie, but I can see it working. I’m also not mad at the decision to cast Lil Mama as Left Eye as well.
The TLC biopic will chronicle the group’s rise to icon status from breaking into the industry to the financial troubles that plagued the group to other personal struggles like, Left Eye’s conviction for arson and ultimately her death.
Keke Palmer, 19, is excited and says that she has been a fan of the group since she was a child.
“I would sing No Scrubs over and over again to the point my parents would have to tell me to stop, but I never did, I had my little hairbrush as my mic and nobody could tell me I wasn’t the fourth member of TLC,” she tweeted.
But of course, since we are in the age of bitter people who complain about everything trite with their fingers, there is some upset about the decision because Palmer doesn’t look like Chilli.
“People kill me, I don’t remember Angela Bassett looking ANYTHING like Tina Turner. And she RIPPED that role…People need to realize that movies aren’t casted by people looking like who they’re playing. They’re casted by who can do the role,” she stated on Twitter.
And get this, according to The YBF, there was a petition circulating to keep Lil Mama from playing Left Eye.
Sigh.
But at least Palmer understands that she has some big shoes to fill and tweeted that as s true fan who loves TLC, she wants to be proud of her work in any role that she does. Obviously, she’s gonna work hard. I’m all in for it. I think Keke Palmer and Lil Mama will do a good job. The only decision that I’m not so sure about, if this is true, is that Drew Sidora has been cast as T-Boz, says The YBF. I know her from The Game but that’s about it. She deserves a chance, though. Good luck ladies!

So far their selections have been good choices. I am curious to see who will play left-eye.
*Sidora
Oops, thanks.
