Grace Jones Auto-Biography Coming Next Fall
I didn’t realize that Grace Jones is one of the few icons without a published biography…but that’s about to change. The iconic model, singer and actress will be releasing a memoir next fall, according to Billboard. She will be published by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster. The project is currently untitled but I do wonder how and who coerced her into this because in her song “Art Groupie,” the opening line states, “I’ll never write my memoirs.”
Maybe that line wasn’t to be taken lightly, and I’m glad because I’m fascinated and inspired by Miss Jones (hence her image in this site’s banner) so I can’t wait to read in-depth details about her life. She’st 65 and she has lived, hunty! I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing her perform live but I know people who have seen her within the last few years and they say she’s still fabulous (I hate using that word but it’s apropos here).
Some of the stories in her memoir include rooming with Jerry Hall, hanging out with Jessica Lange, acting alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and working with Andy Warhol.
Whoever gets to co-write that book with Queen Mother Grace is a lucky writer.
