Nas Co-Directs Documentary on Hip-Hop Around the Globe
I love a good documentary. I love cultural authenticity and the following film looks like it fits the bill to be added to my favorites. Nas teamed up with director Adam Sjoberg to produce Shake the Dust, a documentary about breakers and rappers in Uganda, Colombia, Cambodia and Yemen.
“What these kids are doing around the world reminds me why I fell in love with hip-hop and how important it is as a creative and constructive outlet,” Nas said in a statement (Via Okay Africa). “After hearing Adam’s vision for this project and hearing the stories, I was incredibly excited to help bring the film to global audiences who need to hear this surprising message of empowerment.”

Travel, international ideas, music and culture–sounds good to me.

Amazing, I love a good documentary as well and this looks like one I have to see. I’ll be sure to spread the word about it. Thanks!
