Disclosure, Mary J. Blige Channel 90s Vibes in ‘F For You’ [Video]
Mary J. Blige was so impressed by Disclosure that she decided to get on the remix of their latest single, “F For You.” Disclosure is a UK-based duo that burst on the scene in about 2010. The Grammy-nominated brothers (Guy and Howard Lawrence) have since made a worldwide impression in the electronic music scene. I’m not a fan of all electronic music but every now and then I hear a song that knocks, like this one.
The sound and the video are very 90s, along the lines of something Crystal Waters would have done. An email from their publicist explained that Mary’s hooks on this song came after she first heard ‘F For You’ and fell for Disclosure’s production. She then devised her own vocal line alongside Howard’s and the result is this funky groove.
