G-Tunes: MYM – “Hold You Down”
I was introduced to MYM by Stephane Alexandre, my journalist friend from across the pond. MYM’s from across the pond too. I think she’s pretty cool. So far, the Brittish singer/songwriter has been dubbed as a mix between Shingai (The Noisettes) and Adele. Check out the video for her single “Hold You Down” after the jump.

As per Afripop Mag I learned that the beginning is a cover of Miriam Makeba’s version. The song is part of Levi’s Shape What’s To Come project.

I love this woman! Not only is she a badaasssss rocker chick, but her sense of style is killer too! I love that Essence magazine gave her props as opposed to the usual suspects that they always go for!
