I discovered Alpha Girls while browsing the Hellz Bellz blog. It’s a new series on MNet, a network geared toward Asian pop culture interests, that chronicles the lives of four women who are working hard and making major career strides in their respective industries.
The subjects of this docu-series are Miss Lawn, founder of Hellz Bellz, Tokimonsta, producer and DJ, SooJoo, a fashion model, and Mina Kwon, an artist. All but Mina Kwon, who is straight from Korea, are various Asian-American ethnicities however, their stories are familiar to all women who are working hard to make their dreams come true. I’ve been a fan of Hellz Bellz and Miss Lawn since she first started her clothing line with just t-shirts. Her expansion since then, is amazing. Part of her storyline in the series will depict her launching a Hellz Bellz store in the Philippines.
The next episode premieres tomorrow night at 8pm but in the meantime, check out episode two, which is technically the beginning of the series because episode one was pretty much a trailer.
I can relate more to these women than any Housewives or Love and Hip-Hop any day.
