I’ve partnered with The Naked Winery to remind you that December is the month where friends and family who haven’t seen each other for a while reconnect and celebrate with food and booze. However, why not take a brief break from family time and dedicate a day to your girls? Grab a bottle of  The Naked Winery’s Vixen Syrah and head out to a private pole party, take a burlesque lesson or host a passion party so that you can show off your skills and/or goodies for that special someone, even if that someone is you!

Lose your inhibitions and tap into another side of yourself as you try something new in your sexy red lingerie and 6 inch heels. Vixen Syrah is described as red wine with an attitude. It’s characterized by a rich dark beautiful color and its smoky, red raspberry and early season black cherry flavor. Earthy tones with light tannins on the palate with toast and coffee bean on a medium long finish are all that you need for merriment to remember. And don’t forget to nibble on some bites so that the wine doesn’t take too much control over your inner vixen. The folks at The Naked Winery say that Syrah is paired best with white cheddar or parmigiano reggiano with slices of Italian salami.

The Naked Winery is offering a 30% discount on all purchases of the Vixen Syrah product for those who dare to taste. Use the discount code, “single,” upon check out.

P.S. This is a sponsored post but I actually cosign this product. I’d never post about something that I didn’t think was a good idea. By the way, I’m a red wine lover (the sweeter/woodsier the better) and Vixen Syrah is delicious!

It’s sweet potato pie season! There’s nothing better than pie other than pie that can be digested easier because the ingredients aren’t over processed. Know what that means for you? Less guilt, and less tummy aching. Woohoo! The recipe I followed was by vegan chef Afiya Ibomu (she cooked for Erykah Badu) who has a book out entitled, The Vegan Soulfood Guide to The Galaxy.

It’s a handy guide that allows you to cook more plant based dishes that taste wonderful. Even if you aren’t a vegan you can still find this book helpful. And if you’re interested in veganism or at least increasing your fruit and veggie intake, Ibomu has provided a plethora of useful information, nutrition facts and steps for how you can transition to a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. But with out further adieu, here’s the recipe (this is the only one I’m giving away from her book because the book is a worthy purchase, trust me, I’ve tried quite a few of her recipes and they’re on point).

I had a friend in college from Miami who was really into booty bass, and “Ice Cream n Cake” was one of these songs he always went around chanting. It was so infectious that I caught the bug and would randomly chant it too. That was all in fun but Baskin-Robbins managed to find the best usage for it ever. EVER!

Take that other ice cream brands!

Chez Lucienne
308 Malcolm X Blvd (Lenox Ave)
Between 125th and 126th Street
Price Range: $$$ (out of 5)
Rating: 4/5

I’ve been wanting to visit Paris for years but you can’t do that with no money (womp womp). However, my blog affiliate Kitty Bradshaw invited me to a nice dinner on Tuesday–specifically set up for bloggers–in the heart of France…kind of.

We dined at Chez Lucienne, which is located in Harlem. Yep, Harlem (it’s a different world there than it used to be folks). Chez Lucienne is a French Bistro nestled between 125th and 126th streets and Lennox Ave. I always used to walk past, curious about what was going on inside because it seemed out of place, but after checking it out, I will definitely go back. It’s a dimly lit cozy space that’s perfect for a romantic date, dinner party or simply unwinding after work. I joined bloggers and social media afficionados, Stevie NYC, Michael Street of Greasy Guide, Nikita Banks of The Single Girls Guide to Men, Monique from Suite October, Rae Holliday of Stuff Fly People Like, Phaon from Luxurious Prototype, Billy Ye and “P0ps” from J & R Music World digital for a complimentary appetizer, entree and desert.
