La Femme Nikita – ‘I Get It In Texas’ [Video]

Everyone has encountered someone who gets off on drama and likes to hurt people. These types of manipulative beings do whatever it takes to create strife whether they’re in the center of it or it started between other folks because of their manipulation and sometimes lies. Either way, you can bet that they are always the root of the problem. I’ve been dealing with these types of people all my life. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I got an official diagnosis of what these people are called and it made perfect sense. According to Julia Cameron author of a very inspirational book, The Artist’s Way, these types of people are called crazymakers.

A couple of days ago, I had an unexpected brush with a crazymaker who I stopped talking to because of that reason. This person had been trying to get my attention for months to no avail (sending fraudulent email threats–that I was smart enough to trace with all the handy software that exists today–telling lies about me behind my back–the works) and decided to do something really foul that they thought would work (ie, defame my character). It didn’t. Why? Because I’ve been hip to game and didn’t give them the irate response that they’re used to. That person had the nerve to apologize later and brush it off to, “You know I just talk sometimes.” I didn’t respond because that’s how they reel you in–disingenuous remorse. I won’t go into it anymore because crazymakers don’t need to be entertained. They like to hurt and then thrive off the resulting negativity (ie curse outs, fights, etc, like I said). However, this person inspired me post this because I want more people to recognize what crazymakers like to do so that they can combat it better. Sadly, crazymakers can even be your relatives in some cases. But without further adieu, the following excerpt was taken from ThinkBlackBelt.com (because she was cool enough to write it all out so well, and even relate her own stories):

How To Deal With Effed Up Individuals

*Disclaimer: I am not encouraging you to actually go out and do this stuff nor am I basing this on actual research (*wink). However, if you do perform the following pranks, the consequences are not my fault (*cues Silkk The Shocker).

The idea of having a frenemy is stupid. Either you is or you ain’t my friend but there are quite a few people who have frenemies, or at least someone who is so annoying that they want to see them suffer.

Yes, holding grudges is bad and all that good stuff,  but sometimes the only therapy is Sadism. We’re all human and contrary to how fronters like to behave, everything does not roll off our shoulders.

The following tips can be used for frenemies, enemies, exes or anyone else you want to torture. It’s up to you. Sometimes taking the high road just isn’t enough.

I get what Nike Women is trying to do here but the question is, did this ad do more harm than good?

Yes, she’s a curvy woman but she still has a phenomenal body. One that is only atbtainable if you work out way more than the average woman. And I’m sure that she still weighs at least 20lbs less than the average woman.

So again, did this ad do more harm than good?

I was browsing the web yesterday and came across this ad:

Um, that’s Naledge from Kidz in the Hall. I don’t think he’d appreciate that his pic got stolen for a bogus endorsement. #ImJustSayin

Naledge (From Kidz in the Hall) Got Jacked!

Look at this ad, then look at yourself, then look at this ad. You don’t look like the ad.

That’s a good thing, unless you actually like the heroine-chic-Lower-East-Side-crack-whore-circa-1980s look. If that’s the case, then be mad that American Apparel owner Dov Charney doesn’t like ugly people who wear bad shoes. People were up in arms recently because Gawker revealed shady information about the company’s hiring process based on intel they received from former managers. According to documents obtained, managers were given specific instructions on who to hire based on how they look. One manager was told not to hire trashy black girls and to make sure they had nice hair (ironically, nice hair to them was not permed or straightened). Another manager said this:

Are You Really Shocked That American Apparel Doesn’t Like You?

I’m still hurt about the A. Key’s competition. I guess it wasn’t meant to be but it still feels like there was a glitch in the matrix–like I was supposed to get far. The fact is, I was robbed. Seeing some of the others’ work who advance compared to mine especially hurt. But it is what it is. In other news…

My Twitter friend @Nukirk just nominated me to become MTV’s first TJ. That’s, “twitter jockey.” I had no idea what it was until he tweeted about it but it sounds cool and it pays well.

I’m asking that you CLICK HERE to nominate me, please.

Thanks

Of all the pieces I’ve written and short documentaries I’ve put together, this, a piece that I technically didn’t even write is what really got my name out (smh). Some of my best work includes interviews with overlooked and underrated femcees, talk about black women dealing with eating disorders, funny stories about how I run away from men trying to holla, video celebrations of Queen Latifah and Mary J Blige (for reaching milestone numbers with classic albums), but no one cared about that stuff. However, this, an as told to story with Slim Thug where he expressed his ignorant opinion that generalized black women is what gets my name out. Wow (and ouch).

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. Here are 11 things I learned from the incident.

11 Things I Learned From Writing Slim Thug’s Blog

Author: Gangstarr Girl | Filed under: Misc, Pop Culture, Reflections

People keep asking me about the Alicia Keys gig. I didn’t get it. I’m surprised because I did what they  asked for–be creative, show personality and all that good stuff. Actually, I was a lot more creative and stood out more than a lot of the contestants, which makes me angry that they didn’t choose me to advance to the final round but also sad because it was something I really wanted to do. [Enter all the cliche phrases you can think of like, "It's her loss," and "When one door closes another one opens," here]. Story of my life.

I’m in a weird space. I don’t want to go into what that space is just yet, just know that it’s “career” related. “Urban journalism” is wack and it’s dragging my spirit down. Internet culture is wack and corrupt, especially now that corporations are involved. My childhood dreams are being crushed every day, every time I write or blog something. The result is, I’m not even inspired to write on my own blog. It’s all just gone straight to hell.

I’ve been sad and uninspired.

I’m taking a break. Actually, I’ve been taking a break which I’m sure you’ve noticed. It’s not that I’m never going to post, I just need to get away. I do have some posts submitted by other people which will go up at some point. Bear with me.
