Pam Grier is Working on Her Biopic
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Ok, woosah. I’m calm.
Pam Grier, the Queen B of women in action movies and the star of Blaxploitation classics like Foxy Brown, Sheba Baby and Coffey has told Essence magazine that she is officially working on a biopic. Grier is being honored this Spring by the Film Society of Lincoln Center with a retrospective of her 45-year career entitled, Foxy: The Complete Pam Grier, with screenings of her classics like Foxy, Black Mama, White Mama, and Jackie Brown.
Grier’s autobiography, Foxy: My Life in Three Acts was optioned last year and the script has recently been completed.
As far as what actress will be playing her Grier says:
I have no idea. Not every actress can play every emotion. It’s gonna be up to them. [Laughs] I don’t know who’s gon’ bring it. It may be an unknown; it might be a globally known. It’s up to them. We’ll provide them with the best tool, the best director, but it’s really up to them. Some actresses cannot play being attacked. There are some women that can’t do nudity. Now we might have to use a stunt double or a body double. We don’t know who can do the work, but it’ll be there for whoever wants to meet the challenge.
I. Am. Ridiculously excited. I mean, hel-loooo…Aunt Pam is the very inspiration behind this site (among other things of course but mostly Aunt Pam lol).
I have to interview this woman, I just have to.
Details developing…

I love Pam Grier too! I’ve seen some of her movies, and I hold her in high regard for her excellence in film. She was pretty good on The L Word too. I’m looking forward to seeing this biopic! I gotta hurry up and read her book (it’s been on my Amazon wishlist for awhile now).
OMG, you HAVE to read her book asap! She lived such an interesting life. That book was juicy!
I’m on it!
