I loved it. It’s so Quentin Tarrantino, Blaxploitation.

The video is cute and I like the song. Check it out:
The video was directed by Ethan Lader.
B.o.B’s official debut album, The Adventures Of Bobby Ray, will be in stores April 27th.

Rapper/Producer Christina K might be from “Murrland” but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t up on Big. In fact, she made a song called “Maryland” a couple of years ago that paid homage to her hometown but also to Biggie at the same time because she rapped over his beat for “Every Day Struggle” ( from Ready to Die). She begins the song by saying, “Biggie said he was ready to die on this track, but I’m ready to live so I had to flip it.”

P.S. Christina K is the real mastermind behind Nas and Green Lantern’s “Black President.” I’ll have to repost the interview I did with her for Honey magazine, but in the meantime, check out her music HERE.
He turned his experience meeting Big into a tribute song. Check it out:

I want Reflection Eternal to come back strong but the song and video were, er, boring. But make your own opinion:

I jacked their mission statement from the website:
Here’s part two of Joy Daily’s documentary, The Complexion Obsession, where she talks to journalists, models, artists and scholars about whether dark skin is still discriminated against in the music industry. Shameless plug: I make a cameo at 7:59.
It’s awful that in 2010 people are still brainwashed enough to believe that lighter is better. With regard to the Barbie dolls, those children broke my heart. It’s a plastic freaking doll and with the exception of the outfits and “skin” color, they look exactly the same. Wow.

The song will grow on me. I just have to hear it on the right system and in the right setting because it’s very danceable/vogueable/foot workable. It’s definitely going to be a hit with the RuPaul set, for sure. The visuals are interesting. They look like they’re from the Missy Elliott school of weirdness. But I’m not mad at a creative video, even those are lacking these days. Hmm…
